2025 Kansas City Royals Salute to the Negro Leagues

Join us as we Salute to the Negro Leagues on Sunday, June 29th, at 1:10 p.m. when the Los Angeles Dodgers battle the Royals. The first 15,000 fans through the gates will receive a special Monarchs pin presented by Metropolitan Community College.

Both teams will wear custom caps: the Royals will sport a 1945 KC Monarchs road hat, and the Dodgers will wear Brooklyn Dodgers hats, both in the spirit of Jackie Robinson. The 2025 season marks the 80th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s only season with the Monarchs before debuting for the Brooklyn Dodgers two years later.

Starting that day, game-used hats from this game will be auctioned off. Check back for more updates on auction details. Net proceeds will directly benefit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Starting at 10:30 AM, on Saturday, June 28th, meet the legendary Negro League veterans Pedro Sierra and Sam Allen with paid admission to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Meet and greet details below.

Please note due to new 18th Street Pedestrian Mall construction outside of the main entrance to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, please be advised vehicles may park at the Soutwest corner of 18th & Paseo Parking Lot. Also, additional free parking can be located in the behind the museum. All museum visitors can walk south on Vine from 17th Terrace; and enter either through the rear entrance or the front entrance of the Museums on 18th Street.
