Kansas City Royals, JE Dunn team up to support the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

Every run scored this baseball season will have more of an impact than just on the scoreboard thanks to some teamwork between the Royals and JE Dunn Construction. Every run scored during the 2024 season means a $100 donation to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM).

Founded in 1924, JE Dunn has grown to be the eighth-largest domestic general contractor in the United States with offices in 26 locations. To celebrate this year’s 100th anniversary, the company decided to focus on a Kansas City landmark.

“In celebration of our Centennial year, it is truly an honor to partner with two pillars of the Kansas City community,” JE Dunn President and CEO Gordon Lansford said. “Celebrate the Run is an important way JE Dunn can give back and say thank you to these important organizations and our fellow Kansas Citians for 100 years of support.”

While JE Dunn was starting it’s business, Kansas City was celebrating the Kansas City Monarchs winning the 1924 Negro Leagues World Series. The NLBM recently announced plans for city-wide events to take place recognizing and celebrating that baseball milestone.

“Thanks to the Royals and JE Dunn for creating a fun and exciting way to celebrate the crowning achievement of the Kansas City Monarchs winning the inaugural Negro Leagues World Series a century ago while generating valuable support for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum,” said Bob Kendrick, museum president. “The Museum is the place where history touches home and needless to say, we will be cheering even more than usual every time the Royals touch home this season.”

The Kansas City Royals will commemorate the 100th anniversary during their Salute to the Negro Leagues game slated for Sunday, July 28 against the Chicago Cubs.

Tickets for that game are now on sale at www.royals.com/tickets.
