The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) presents a musical salute to Jackie Robinson.
The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM) proudly presents “Jazz & Jackie: A Musical Salute to Jackie Robinson,” 7 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Gem Theater in Kansas City.
Tickets for the Show Only are $35.00 (Lower Level) and $25.00 (Upper Level). A premium VIP experience is also available.
When Jackie Robinson broke Major League Baseball’s color-barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 he not only changed the game but America too. But before Robinson wore number 42 for the Dodgers, he wore number 5 for the Kansas City Monarchs.
Jazz & Jackie celebrates his Kansas City professional baseball roots and his unbridled love of jazz, an art form that got its soul in Kansas City. The event marks the anniversary of Robinson’s first game with the Monarchs.
The event features a concert performances by R&B Hall of Fame singer, PHIL PERRY with special guest, the vibrant Smooth Jazz keyboardist MARK HARRIS II.
JAZZ & JACKIE is made possible through the generous support of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, State of Missouri, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Evergy, and KPRS-Hot 103 Jamz!
Event proceeds benefit the NLBM. Eventbrite service fees apply. Tickets can be purchased here.
